Giving Tuesday: Tuesday, December 1
Jesus exemplified love for the marginalized and invites us to follow His example (Matthew 14:16).
At Trinity Church of Miamisburg, we strive to make the world a better place through service and social action. You can participate in #GivingTuesday in many ways!
Here are some ideas: Traveling Playground. Blessings In A Bag Ministry, Mobile Food Pantry, Christmas Shoeboxes, Hope4Christmas
(You can specify where you would like the donation to go.)
Traveling Playground ministry: We partner with our city's Parks and Recreation department for Summer activities when the school year ends. During these playground events, our church feeds a healthy meal to each child, their parents, and Parks and Rec staff.
Vacation Bible School: One of our primary outreaches each year is gathering children every day for a two-hour block for one week in the Summer. We feed them a full meal every evening, and then use all sorts of learning and teaching techniques to develop the character of kids from our community. Then, we have a giant block party with inflatables and a cookout at the end of the week.
Blessings in a Bag ministry (for school children's meals): In our school system, nearly 800 children come from families facing economic challenges. For many of these children, school meals play a vital role in their weekly nutrition. Sadly, on weekends, many struggle to find anything to eat, especially as the month ends and their money runs out. Our community outreach program, #BlessingsinaBag, aims to alleviate this hardship by providing these vulnerable kids with a sack of food to take home over the weekend. We are committed to supporting them throughout the entire school year. This is such an important cause, and we would be grateful for your partnership in making a difference in the lives of these children.
Mobile Food Pantry Meals: We understand the challenges many families face, and we're dedicated to offering support through our grocery distribution efforts. Families gather in their cars near the City Civic Building, where our caring volunteers fill their trunks and seats with essential groceries. Typically, we provide FREE bags of food for 80 to 120 families during each outreach, demonstrating our commitment to helping our community during tough times.
Christmas Shoeboxes: Every Christmas season, we prepare a multitude of stuffed Christmas shoeboxes, each brimming with toys and thoughtful gifts aimed at children and teens. These colorful boxes filled with surprises are specially crafted for children living in underprivileged countries around the world, bringing joy and smiles to young faces who may not otherwise experience the joy of the holiday season. You can sponsor as many boxes as you wish for about $20-$25 each.
Local Food Pantry: Our local Helping Hands food pantry has been serving our city for 55 years! Each month we provide supplies to this amazing ministry that has helped thousands in our town every year. We recommend gathering dry goods, cereals, canned goods, peanut butter and jelly, and other long-shelf-life items for this ministry. In the first half of 2026, Trinity has assisted in helping 1,022 households and 3,412 individuals. God wants your life to bless others; this is one important way you can do that! #FoodPantry
Hope4Christmas: This is our outreach to local residents to help provide a meaningful Christmas for their children in spite of economic uncertainties. Adopt-A-Family Outreach is now the Hope4Christmas Store. Our goal is to spread the joy and love of Christmas by assisting families in need within our community. Families will have the opportunity to “shop” at a temporary holiday store, where they can choose items to meet each family member's needs and desires. With this initiative, we aim to prioritize kindness and share the miracle of God’s love with others this festive season. Families are pre-screened and referred through various church partners, schools, and community organizations. Each family will be assigned a specific "shopping" day and time to ensure privacy, sufficient inventory, and a meaningful shopping experience. You can give, support, and volunteer in many ways for this incredible outreach, or donate in any amount. Please speak to Elsa or call our office at (937) 866-1992 for more information.
You can support the mission of our church by donating to Trinity in person, by mail, or with a digital gift! Thank you for your generosity!
